Harvey Manson Jr., CEO of the Recording Academy, revealed to the media that the Recording Academy is currently considering the possibility of adding an Afrobeats category to the annual Grammys ceremony on Saturday, September 24, when he arrived in Accra, Ghana for the Global Citizens Festival, which was held over the weekend.
The first step toward including the Afrobeats genre in the annual Grammy Awards, according to him (Harvey Manson Jr.), has been taken by the Grammy committee. He revealed that the Grammy committee must first hold a number of meetings and deliberate for some time before the process is complete.
