Diamond bell rings for Chief Dele Momodu as he clocks 60 today.

Ayobamidele Ajani Momodu is a Nigerian journalist, entrepreneur, and motivational speaker. He holds bachelor’s and masters degrees in Yoruba and English Literature respectively from Obafemi Awolowo University.

Dele Momodu started his career by getting his job as a Staff Writer with African Concord Magazine, a media outlet own by Late Chief Moshood Kashimawo Olawale Abiola. His debut cover story was published in 1989 while at Weekend Concord, and his writing skills poised him to become a Literary Editor within six months of him joining the media team.

He was the brain behind some topical national news in the early 90s during the military administration in Nigeria, and which brought him to the prominence of his journalism career. Dele Momodu’s popular magazine ‘Ovation International’ was birthed in 1996 when he was in the United Kingdom. Ovation International is a reputable celebrity magazine across Africa with its bi-lingual editorial feature in English and French languages. In 2015, he officially launched Ovation TV and subsequently launched an online newspaper called ‘The Boss’. 

Ovation International and Ovation TV have both become household names for showcasing African celebrities to the rest of the world, it is from these brilliant stances that brought about the annual event ‘Ovation Carol and Awards’  that had its first edition in 2008. The great event that is held in December with rituals of musical performances, fashion show, drama, and award presentations has been gracefully attended by presidents of Ghana ( J.J Rawlings and John Mahama), captains of industries, and music stars.

Traveling far and wide, the prosperous journalism career of Dele Momodu has been able write his name on a golden slate, now diamond with his meetings with the world leaders like Queen Elizabeth II, former U.S Presidents Bill Clinton and George W. Bush, among others. 

He is a recipient of innumerable awards and recognitions for his great works in media, politics, fashion, entertainment, and business industries. 

It is no doubt that the journey has been prosperous thus far irrespective of the little cloud it might have had.
