DJ Abass: Celebrating Black Excellence In Broadcasting And Entertainment

Abass Abayomi Tijani, popularly known as DJ Abass, is a London-based broadcaster, entertainment consultant, disc jockey, and compere. He is the CEO of DJAMEDIA. A media and entertainment consultancy outfit specializing in reputed entertainment events management and full media campaigns to targeted demographics within the Nigerian and African communities in the UK. Also, his company is the leading organizer of Nigerian and Nollywood movie premieres in the United Kingdom. 

Born in 1968, DJ Abass was a founding member of the Nigerian DJs Association, UK chapter. As a broadcaster, he has presented and co-produced a live music show on television on the hit music program â€˜Intro Live with Dj Abass.’ The entertainment show has hosted notable music stars like 2Face Idibia, King Sunny Ade, Erykah Badu, and more.

DJ Abass holds a degree in political science from University of Ado Ekiti (now Adekunle Ajasin University). 

Being an omnipresent entertainer, the 52-year-old compere is a recipient of awards and recognitions for his feat towards music and media promotion. Some of them are; African Film Awards 2014, Entertainment Promoter of the Year; Smade Recognition Award 2016, Outstanding Contribution to UK Afrobeats; Nigerian Music Awards UK 2006, Entertainment Journalist of the Year; and Africa Music Awards 2008, Club DJ of the Year.
