Duke of the Month: Celebrating Black Excellence

When you don’t know your history, anybody can fool you. But this is not the narrative when Black men are being put on the spotlight. Years over years and decades over decades, Black men have always reinvigorated the essence of uniqueness in their crafts to nerd out wits, styles, and glamor.

We won’t get tired celebrating the impeccable excellence of Black men who have defeated all odds, smashed ceilings, and grown from a rookie to a dignified maestro in their endeavors.

In this edition of Duke of the Month, we are celebrating two remarkable Black personas who have been called by their callings and gave the best of excellence to their pursuits.

Since graduating from the University of Central Lancashire with a degree in business and management, Adegoke has gone on to work in directorial roles in Nigeria and London.

Between 2001 and 2007, Koinange served as the Africa correspondent for CNN and CNN International.

 

Jeff Koinange: Celebrating Black Excellence

As an investigative journalist with CNN, he covered topical news in and outside Africa, some of which are coverage of the Movement for the Emancipation of the Niger Delta (MEND) in Nigeria, the crisis in Darfur, Liberia, and Sierra Leone civil wars, the aftermath of the Hurricane Katrina crisis in the US, and the Iraq War.

Jeff Koinange: Celebrating Black Excellence

The Kenyan journalist worked as the chief anchor Africa for Arise Television Ltd and served as a judge at East Africa’s Got Talent alongside Vanessa Mdee and Gaetano Kagwa.
