Drake is undoubtably a great craftsman when it comes to making hit songs, and lately, he has been very good with some invention of viral dance step that continues to wow his fans and viewers.
On Monday, April 13 2020, Billboard announced that Drake’s latest single, “Toosie Slide,” debuts at Number 1 spot on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. This then marks yet another new success for the rap star, becoming the first male artist to debut three Number 1 songs on the Hot 100 chart: These songs are; God’s Plan, Nice for What, and now, Toosie Slide. The record does not include other songs he featured on, such as, Rihanna’s number ones “What’s My Name?” and “Work” and “In My Feelings,” which did not debut at the number one spot, but which eventually made it there due to his previous artistic dance associated with the song.
This news actually comes a week after Drake dropped “Toosie Slide,” which quickly caught the attention of everyone on viral video TikTok, and which in no time jumped to No. 1 on Billboard’s Streaming Songs chart.
After the breaking news, Drizzy responded to his single topping the Hot 100 chart via Instagram, giving some kudos to the song’s namesake, and social media influencer Toosie.
Drake wrote “From the chat to the charts” before tagging those responsible for the choreography.
