Douglas Jack Agu better known as Runtown was born on 19 August 1989 in Enugu State, Nigeria. He is a Nigerian singer, songwriter and producer.
He grew up partly in Abuja and Lagos where he completed his primary education. He moved to Abuja with his mother who was working in the Ministry of Health after the death of his father.
He released “Gallardo” featuring Davido in 2014. The song was his first single off his debut studio album Ghetto University. In the same year, Gallardo won”Best Collaboration of the Year” at the 2014 edition of the Nigerian Entertainment Awards.
On 23 November 2015, Runtown released his debut studio album “Ghetto University”. The album generated over ₦35million on the music portal thereby earning him a position on the list of “Top 5 Most Streamed Artist”.
On 4 November 2016, Runtown released the ballad “Mad Over You” which became number 38 on the Billboard Twitter Top Tracks chart. The song according to him in The Fader magazine was inspired by African beauty.
In 2017, he won African Artist of the Year by Vodafone Ghana Music Award. In the same year, he won Best Collaboration of the Year and Viewer’s Choice at Soundcity’s MVP Awards Festival.
