Bovi Ugboma is a renowned stand-up comedian, actor, and writer. He has planned well-known stand-up comedy shows like Bovi: Man on Fire all over the world. He has a wife named Kris Asimonye Ugboma.

In Benin City, the administrative center of Edo State, Bovi Ugboma was born. His primary education was received at UNIBEN staff school. He attended Government College in Ughelli, Delta State, in 1991. He was relocated from boarding school to Edokpolor Grammar School in Benin City, where they lived, for disciplinary issues and out of concern for his growth as a young man. His third secondary school, Boys Model Secondary School, Onicha Olona, an all-boarding institution, was his next stop after that unsuccessful shift.

He was accepted in 1998 to Delta State University after completing his secondary education and began studying theatre arts there.

In the comedy series Extended Family, which he also wrote and produced, Bovi made his acting debut in April 2007. Fans adored the famous program.

In Nigeria, Bovi was a rising star in comic performances and gatherings. He performed his first stand-up routine at the Opa Williams-produced Night of a Thousand Laughs, the top comedy series in Nigeria. He was the show’s headliner across the nation by 2011.

The Eko convention center hosted his first stand-up performance. He would later stage the follow-up in 2014. International superstars Ja Rule and Ashanti were also present at Bovi: Man on Fire 2014. In addition to various American locations, Bovi also performed the one-man show in London, Melbourne, Kiev, Brisbane, Sydney, Moscow, and Toronto.

After the 2014 episode of the show, he took a three-year hiatus. The Man on Fire franchise returned to Lagos after the break, and it was the most successful yet. In April 2019, the fourth iteration of the Man on Fire franchise took place in Lagos, according to Bovi. He claims his upcoming special will have a different name.

In 2018, Bovi started a series called “Back To School” that he posts on his YouTube account. Other Nigerian comedians with whom Bovi has collaborated include I Go Dye, I Go Save, Basketmouth, Buchi, Odogwu, Okey Bakassi, Julius Agwu, and many more.

Bovi’s most recent comedy special, Bovi- Naughty By Nature, was presented in Lagos in July 2022, and it sold out two days in advance.

It’s Her Day, Bovi’s debut film, had its premiere on September 9, 2016. In Nigeria, the movie made 55 million Naira at the box office. He had the starring role in the romance comedy 4-1-Love in 2016.

He received his third individual nomination since the AMVCA’s establishment and the fourth nomination for one of his productions in 2017 when he was nominated for best actor in a comedy. Despite receiving little media press, the film enjoyed a respectable run in theaters and made 55 million naira at the box office.

In the 2020 adaptation of the Nollywood classic Nneka the Pretty Serpent, he played a police officer.

In addition, he co-wrote, co-produced, and starred in My Village People, his second movie. The movie continued on and joined the group of 17 Nigerian movies that have earned 100 million naira at the local box office.

He received the Net Award for Most Popular Comedian in 2021.
