Yemi Adebowale is a Nigerian journalist. He is the Editor of Saturday THISDAY newspaper.
Adebowale is a British Chevening Scholar who has worked in media, advertising, and public relations for about three decades.
Before he started working for THISDAY, he worked for big media companies like Vanguard, Newswatch, The Punch, MTN Nigeria, and the Yorkshire Post Newspaper in the UK.
As also a columnist, his works have touched down on salient topical issues in society.
Adebowale has won many journalism awards, including the 2000 Commonwealth Media Award from the Fletcher Challenge Paper in New Zealand, the 1999 African Journalist of the Year Award from the African Journalist Foundation in South Africa, and the Nigerian Media Merit Award (NMMA) in 1999.
The adroit editor has a bachelor’s degree and a master’s degree in communication studies from Cambridge University and Leeds University, respectively. He is a Press Fellow at Reuters and Wolfson College (Cambridge).
