Rema Tops 2022 ‘Most Viewed Music Videos’ List

With his top-charting song, “Calm Down,” Afrobeats musician Rema has climbed to the top of YouTube’s list of 2022’s most-watched Nigerian music videos.

The list, which was published on Friday, was put together by renowned data intelligence and digital eco-system firm Dataleum.

The list, which examined YouTube views for official music videos posted in 2022, showed that Rema’s “Calm Down” video almost reached 300 million views.

The songs “Last Last” by Burna Boy, with over 140 million views, and “Buga” by Kizz Daniel, with 107 million views each, came in second and third place, respectively.

With 70 million views, the Burna Boy and Ed Sheeran song “For My Hand” placed fourth, while Pheelz’s song “Finesse” with BNXN received 61 million.

Ayra Starr, the sole female on the list, came in sixth place with “Rush,” which received 53.1 million views on YouTube.

Other videos on the list include No Wahala remix (1da Banton ft. Kizz Daniel, Tiwa Savage), with 53 million views; Bandana (Fireboy ft. Asake), 44 million; Overloading (Mavin All Stars), 44 million; and Sungba remix (Asake ft. Burna Boy), 35 million.
