Three undergraduates of Usman Dan Fodio University, Sokoto have emerged the first position having raced against over 68,000 in a competition organised by Microsoft in conjunction with Sterling Bank and TedPrime Hub.
The competition which was conducted by Agro Tech Hackathon on 28th June, 2022 at the Microsoft Transformation Office, Kings Tower, Ikoyi, Lagos had the sum of 2.5 Million, 1.5million and 1 million for the top three winners. The winners of the competition are three students of Computer Science Department who came together to form a team.
The team was led by Muhammad Auwal Muktar, a 400L student who is the current president of the National Association of Computing Students (NACOS). The other team members are Mudathir M. Salahudeen, also 400-level student,he was the developer for the team and the Assistant Secretary-General of (NACOS) while Saadu Salihu Abubakar is a 300-level student and the Software Director.
The organizers however, explained that the competition was targeted at increasing employment opportunities and agricultural value chain, digitally accessible to Nigerians, most especially farmers, while aiming at selecting solutions that bolster sustainable and inclusive outlets.
