Nadia, a four-year-old tiger at the Bronx Zoo, has tested positive for coronavirus. She started showing symptoms, including a dry cough, after coming into contact with an asymptomatic employee at the zoo in New York. Nadia, her sister Azul, as well as two Amur tigers and three African lions who showed symptoms, are all expected to make a full recovery. Dr Paul Calle, Bronx Zoo chief vet, said the tests carried out on the animals are “not the same test used for people… so there is no competition for testing”. .
