Mercy Johnson Okojie is a Nigerian actress. She is one of the movie sensations in Africa seasoned with multifaceted roles on the screen. Born in 1984, Mercy Johnson has over fifteen years been a household name in the movie space of entertainment in Nigeria.

She started her acting career starring in movies like HustlersBaby Oku in AmericaWar in the Palace. Exuberant in her dispositions in films, Mercy Johnson won an award for the Best Supporting Actress at the 2009 African Movie Award ceremony for her performance in the movie “Live to Remember” and Best Actress award at the 2013 Africa Magic Viewers Choice Awards for her role in the comedy movie Dumebi the Dirty Girl.

As an actress who knows her onions and how to peel them, she is revered as one of the most sought-after actresses in Nollywood (Africa’s biggest movie industry). In recognition of her exploits, Mercy Johnson currently serves as the Senior Special Assistant (SSA) to the Kogi State governor on entertainment, arts, and culture.

The 37-year-old multi-award-winning actress won the 2018 Eloy Awards as the Actress of the Year, amongst other awards and nominations she has received.
