Sola Sobowale, popularly called Toyin Tomato, is a Nigerian movie actress and producer. Born in 1963, Toyin Tomato has gracefully plied through the path of acting with her breakthrough in 2001, when she starred in a Nigeria’s popular TV drama series, Super Story: Oh Father, Oh Daughter. She has then gone all out to be one of the most sought-after actress in the Yoruba movie space of Nigeria entertainment. With few years of hiatus from acting, the vivacious actress known for her bellicose dispositions in ‘wife or motherly’ roles in movies is reckoning back her impeccable handling of roles on set.
Sola Sobowale starred in the 2016 Box Office movie “The Wedding Party”, and was the leading actress in “King of Boy”, the movie which got her an award at the 2019 African Movie Academy Awards (AMAA), in the category of the Best Actress in a Leading Role.
The Ondo native has worked with several film makers from script to screen to make her acting career a wholesome success to behold.
