Yemi Adebowale is a Nigerian journalist. He presently serves as an editor at ThisDay newspaper.
Adebowale is a British Chevening Scholar who has worked in journalism, advertising, and public relations for almost three decades. He worked with prestigious media organisations such as Vanguard, Newswatch, The Punch, MTN Nigeria, including the Yorkshire Post Newspaper in the UK before joining THISDAY Newspaper.
He has won various journalism honors, including the Nigerian Media Merit Award (NMMA) in 1999, the African Journalist of the Year Award from the African Journalist Foundation, AJF, South Africa, and the 2000 Commonwealth Media Award from Fletcher Challenge Paper, New Zealand.
Adebowale received his bachelor’s degree in communication studies from Leeds University and his master’s degree in the same field from Cambridge University. Notably, he is a Press Fellow at both Reuters and Wolfson College (Cambridge).
